The first ever robotic surgery of Bihar and Jharkhand was flawlessly performed at the Ruban Memorial Hospital, Patna marking a huge leap forward in advancing surgical capabilities in the region using the Made in India, SSI Mantra Surgical Robotic System. Three intricate surgeries- Robotic Inguinal Hernia, Incisional Hernia and Cholecystectomy were successfully performed by Dr. Kumar Sonal and Dr. Rahul Kumar Singh, Consultants, General Surgery, Ruban Hospital under the expert proctorship of Dr. Magan Mehrotra, Consultant and Director, Apex Hospital Moradabad. Dr. Satyajit Singh, Senior Urologist and Managing Director, Ruban Hospital, expressed his joy at achieving this monumental milestone, affirming the institution's commitment to providing gold-standard surgical care to all patients. Dr. Singh also mentioned that when he visited the patients, he found it hard to believe that they had already undergone major surgery as the patients showed no signs of discomfort or pain postoperatively. Dr. Kumar Sonal, following his first robotic surgery experience, commended the comprehensive hands-on training of the system that was provided by SS Innovations' clinical team. He also thanked Dr. Magan Mehrotra for his invaluable guidance during these initial procedures.
