Crypto-related job postings skyrocketed last year, according to a recent LinkedIn analysis, pointing to disruption across industries. Job postings with titles containing terms like “bitcoin,” “ethereum,” “blockchain” and “cryptocurrency” grew 395% in the U.S. from 2020 to 2021, outpacing the wider tech industry — which saw a 98% increase in listings during the same time period.  While most of the job postings were in software and finance, other industries are also seeing a rise in demand for crypto talent. These include professional services like accounting and consulting, as well as the staffing and computer hardware sectors. What kind of roles are companies hiring for? Some of the most common titles included blockchain developers and engineers. Hiring demand surged last year amid an influx of funding. Investors worldwide poured $30 billion into crypto and blockchain startups in 2021, according to PitchBook data. At the same time, public interest in crypto exploded as high profile evangelists like Elon Musk praised the technology—and crypto companies entered the mainstream, as evidenced by the newly-christened Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.  Despite the burgeoning growth of the wider industry, some experts have expressed skepticism around the long-term utility of the technology and claim that crypto is a bubble. Weigh in: Do you think the crypto industry will continue to grow? If so, can it sustain this breakneck pace? #TheWorkShift #Economy #LaborMarket #Crypto #Blockchain 🖊: Taylor Borden 📈: Danielle K.

The changes around the World have put Texas on the map for new bitcoin mining operations. Katy Texas has started another 40 MW operation and after I complete this we will embark on another project starting in March. 2022 should be a watershed moment for Texas and surrounding States.

I don't understand the fascination with crypto. What determines its value and why would we believe it has sustainability? It's not tangible like real estate or precious metals.

I've been scammed by everyone I have been working with. So far I'm out $5500. Not impressed and very skeptical about the entire crypto. Nothing but a bunch of thieves.

The genie is out of the bottle. Too many smart people from big companies working on Blockchain. Web3 is about providing incentives at every technology layer and complements open source. It is also about bringing code to data (instead of data to code), allowing for better data privacy. Look at MOBI or Industry IoT Consortium. Plenty of examples in healthcare too. Bitcoin was the first iteration of Blockchain. The technology is on the third or fourth iteration now.

Nothing is guaranteed, but if you buy cryptocurrency as a long-term store of value, the more “real world” uses it has, the more likely demand and value will increase. When it comes to pursuing your career in the Crypto space, I highly recommend doing a lot of research. This could definitely be like Tech was in the 90's as far as employment and depending on where you are at with your career and what you are looking for will be big factors in whether you should choose a career in this space.
