Dr. Candice Enecio-Hilton (Dr. Candice Matthews) serves as CEO and Executive Director at the Children of Diversity Foster Adoption Agency in Houston and Beaumont, Texas. In this role, Dr. Candice Enecio-Hilton (Dr. Candice Matthews) oversees the Agency’s day-to-day operations. This includes overseeing staff and committees across the
organization. In addition to her ongoing work in adoption agency leadership, Dr. Candice Enecio-Hilton (Dr. Candice Matthews) also chairs two committees, including the Texas Statewide Steering Committee for the Rainbow Push Coalition, and the Statewide-Harris County Accountability Committee as member of the Texas Coalition of Black Democrats.
Rainbow Push Coalition leader Rev. Jesse Jackson personally selected Dr. Candice Enecio-Hilton (Dr. Candice Matthews) to lead the organization’s State of Texas Steering Committee. In this position, Dr. Candice Enecio-Hilton (Dr. Candice Matthews) manages activities performed by the Committee, an advisory body and integral part of the Coalition’s governance. Committee members include experts, authority figures, and senior stakeholders in projects across the state.
As Chair of the Texas Statewide/Harris Country Accountability Committee for the Texas Coalition of Black Democrats, Dr. Candice Enecio-Hilton (Dr. Candice Matthews) evaluates the performance of elected officials and the endorsement screenings of both incumbents and candidates for office. In this role, Dr. Matthews is responsible for holding all elected officials accountable and fighting against injustice on behalf of people of color.
