Introducing a new platform for strategic growth

York IE Launches New Initiatives to Support Female Investors and Advisors

Firm partners with New Hampshire Tech Alliance to offer programming and networking opportunities

(Manchester, N.H., March 8) — York IE, a vertically integrated strategic growth and investment firm, announced today the launch of TechWomen Invest LLC, a new group that will help increase the number of female technology investors and facilitate more opportunities for them to share their expertise with founders.

Additionally, York IE established a partnership with TechWomen|TechGirls, a New Hampshire Tech Alliance initiative that brings female investors together.

The new initiatives have three major goals:

  • make York IE’s investment portfolio more accessible;
  • bring on more female investment partners to the York IE group; and
  • facilitate meaningful connections between female entrepreneurs, executives and investors.

“The tech industry, startups and venture capital need to do a better job of authentically fostering a broader and more diverse culture,” said Kyle York, CEO, York IE. “At York IE, we don’t want to simply talk when it comes to elevating opportunities for women investors in our community. We want to lead with an impactful program that will create a better path.”

Members of TechWomen Invest will have the opportunity to invest in companies as part of York IE’s investment partner syndicate, which is an evergreen syndicate and not a traditional fund. York IE will also facilitate connections between the members of TechWomen Invest and startup companies, both within and outside its portfolio, for direct investment.

“We need to get more women at the table talking about the startups that will shape the future,” said Janelle Gorman, CFO, York IE. “We want to see more women in leadership positions, board seats and advisory roles. We’re taking real steps to get this done, and we’re excited to partner with the New Hampshire Tech Alliance for broader reach across the Granite State.”

TechWomen Invest members will have access to all New Hampshire Tech Alliance TechWomen|TechGirls events and will have opportunities to participate in mentorship programs, speaking engagements, webinars and more. York IE will also connect members with the leadership teams of its portfolio companies to build advisor relationships.

“We’re happy to provide a platform for these strong women to educate the community on what investing and advising roles really mean,” said Julie Demers, executive director, New Hampshire Tech Alliance. “We aim to inspire a future generation of powerful female business leaders sharing their stories of success.”
