How can your professional network help you find innovative teaching strategies?
I have found that being an educator in K- 6 and as a Professor of Literature for 33 years, looking for innovative teaching strategies was an ongoing and constant thing for me. I also taught online for the college years. I realized that if I wanted to keep todays students engaged, I have to be innovative. I couldn’t teach with the same strategies today as I did even a few years ago. So, I wiped the slate clean, and stopped teaching the same way over and over each year. I brought my classes to life by adding technology into my curriculum, adding reflection and real life examples, and activities and exercises they made students feel valued and heard. Adding innovative strategies made the environment of my class a success.
