To provide students at the University of Florida the opportunity to participate in a 24-hour-long competition to support open-source coding and a learning environment outside of the classroom. Created by students for students.

Schedule: Sunday, March 24

7:30 a.m. LIT0109 opens if you need some Dino and want to cram in the classroom before the deadline.

9:00 a.m. Submission deadline. LIT0109 closes and will not reopen until the awards ceremony.

2:00 p.m. Finalists are announced in Devpost. The finalists will be the only projects still in contention for the prizes at the awards ceremony but everyone is invited to attend (and should! You've all worked hard and deserve the chance to celebrate.)

4:15 p.m. Awards ceremony in LIT0109. Winners are announced. Comically large checks are handed out. Shirts will be distributed to first 100 participants who have submitted a project and are in attendance.

5:45 p.m. It's over! That's all folks. Go home. Sleep. Purchase some energy drinks.

All participants must register ahead of the event in Devpost.

Participants have 24 hours to submit a project.

We have multiple locations in Little Hall that will serve as the main event areas.

  • LIT0101 from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 (We recommend taking a field trip to somewhere on-campus that is open 24 hours for that time.)
  • LIT0109 from 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 24, until the event concludes.

WHAT TO SUBMIT

A product or application that executes the task. Include a short demo that shows your project's features and functionality. The project does not have to be deployed. The demo does not need to be a video but that is highly encouraged. 

Include a URL to your code repository for judging and testing by making your code public or sharing access. 

Include a text description in the Devpost project submission and a clear README file detailing setup instructions, dependencies, and usage. This should explain the features and functionality of your project.

    Does the solution have a real-world impact, and does it provide some sort of value to users?

    Is your idea/solution novel? Does it use newly released features? Does it have a quality that stands out creatively?
