📅 Join us for the launch of our Mobile Gender Gap Report 2024 on Wednesday, 15 May at 13:00! Explore the latest data and insights on the #mobilegendergap across LMICs. International Telecommunication Union, Jio and MTN Uganda will also share their reactions to the findings and speak about what can be done to drive #digitalinclusion for women. The GSMA’s latest data shows that the mobile internet gender gap in LMICs narrowed from 19% in 2022 to 15% in 2023. This brings the mobile internet #gendergap back to where it was in 2020. While there has been some progress in the last year, the gender gap in mobile internet remains substantial. Targeted action is needed to address the mobile internet gender gap and ensure that everyone is able to benefit from connectivity. We look forward to presenting the latest research to you and hearing the perspectives of our partners as they share what they are doing, and what actions can be taken to accelerate women’s digital inclusion. As the International Girls in ICT Day approaches, it's important to celebrate the #Sheroes who are driving the digital age and inspiring future generations of women in tech. One of these trailblazers is Doreen Bogdan-Martin, the first woman Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union in its 158-year history. Within the Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development, I have had the privilege of witnessing her incredible energy, leadership, and vision firsthand. It's inspiring to see how she has risen against all odds, blazing the way forward for young women and girls in the field of technology.
