In this session, Matt Risinger will talk about the build of his family home and the excitement of being able to do it all - using the tools and techniques he advocates for with his customers and viewers. Find out if Matt accomplished his goals for the home including passive level air tightness, durability and energy efficiency to create a healthy comfortable home. Hear about the experiences Matt and his family have had since moving in, what they would do differently, what they did right, and how the home is performing post-occupancy. Matt will discuss how he originally started out with a goal to market his business on YouTube, what he learned along the way, and how that journey changed his life. Hear about his learnings from the mold crisis in 2001 and the discovery of the importance of building science for remodelers, contactors and builders. Matt will discuss what his customers and viewers taught him, and how that turned into a passion to change the building industry, with education and advocacy for healthy, well-built, sustainable homes.
