Immersed in a whirlwind of insights and inspiration at the Cytecare Hospitals 🎗️ I’m just writing to say that, of all the sessions I’ve ever been to, this was by far the best. ♻️ #SCDM23 I learned more in one session. This is by far the best. The visit has caused me to ask myself how to derive clinical lessons from the resources, and that has not happened very often before.... I found the visit to the cancer facility very useful indeed, to the extent that I haven't stopped thinking and rethinking so much of what you all said. I am already working on some short term Learning objectives which I have set myself on the patients engagement. The first opening question changed my perspective on things entirely. Real insight and complete focus. This is a clear how the industry can transform to embody a more human perspective and use it as a collective north star that will positively impact all stakeholders― patients, sponsors, investigators, caregivers, CRAs, Regulatory, shareholders, and the clinical research professional ―alike. Most importantly, what’s possible when you create high-quality, deeply felt alliances that deliver patient-driven care with value to all. Humanizing Healthcare is the future of health. ⛑️ Would I recommend the visit to the Cytecare Hospitals? Unequivocally 🧡 As a Budget Manager and I am working for Oncology R&D assets. By people taking part today, they could change the lives of people in the future. The NHS-Galleri Grail trial could be fundamental in supporting the NHS to achieve their goal of early cancer detection. Within 10 months, the trial reached 140,000 participants, making it one of the fastest recruiting cancer diagnostic studies to date. The mobile clinics are helping to improve access to participants, with 97% rating their experience on board as good or excellent. Our Future Health, the UK's largest health research programme, has reached over 500,000 volunteers, with more than one person joining every minute. Mobile units are supporting the programme, offering convenient clinic locations, to enable people to take part from all backgrounds. May 20 is marked on the international calendars as both International Clinical Day and World Metrology Day, and I can’t help thinking how apt this is. The tenets of both clinical trials and metrology are to ensure accurate and consistent data and information support the decisions we make on a daily basis, whether in health care or sustainability. #CTD2024 #InternationalClinicalTrialsDay

Self-advocacy isn't only about getting a seat at the table. For many, it's about survival. After overcoming medical bias, denial of access to critical testing, and being given an estimated survival rate of 4%, Karen Peterson is using her experience to empower cancer patients of colour to make informed decisions about their healthcare and clinical research. Efficient clinical trial enrollments produce better, more diverse data and solutions, which produces better medicine. But infrequent referrals, limited patient awareness and a fractured system maintaining measurement to redirect patients in the right directions at the right times are holding us back. Overcoming barriers to entry is critical and will get us closer to a future where access to preventative treatments turns the life-altering impacts of cognitive decline into a story of the past.
