The future of work - turning fear into opportunity 🚀! I hope this photo got your attention 😉 I want to address a topic that has been causing a lot of concern– the future of work and the increasing presence of AI. Because of the imminent takeover of AI, it's normal to feel uneasy about the impact on our jobs and our overall role in the workforce. But I want to urge you all to look at the bright side and take note of three opportunities for growth and development that will ALWAYS bring you success, no matter what industry you’re in. First and foremost, Embrace Tech Savviness 🔥: Incorporating technology into your skill set is pivotal. Keep a pulse on emerging technologies relevant to your field and industry trends. Embracing tech savviness positions you as an adaptable professional ready to embrace the digital transformations shaping our workplaces. Secondly, Advocate for Yourself and Your Worth 💪: To thrive, you need to get used to taking credit for your accomplishments instead of underestimating yourself. Share your achievements during team meetings and performance reviews. Raise your hand for the next challenging assignments and enhance YOUR visibility within the organization. Lastly, Lean into Leadership 🌟: Don't shy away from leadership roles, embrace them! Recognize your strengths, whether they involve empathy, collaboration, or problem-solving. Seek opportunities to lead projects, mentor colleagues, and shape the direction of your organization. Having this mindset will definitely push you to the next level. By the way, our flagship event is only less than a week away! Join us to be empowered and future-ready on the 30th of August, and hear more thought leadership like this from industry leaders on how you can thrive in your career. Register on https://lnkd.in/gk5AAcE8? to secure your slot, and I can't wait to see you there! 👉 "Gaming cultivates not only technical skills but also the soft skills that are increasingly valuable as automation and machines perform more routine tasks. Gamers bring improved critical thinking, creativity, emotional intelligence and complex problem-solving to the table. 👉 Games even teach players how to communicate feedback effectively. These soft skills are hard to find and even harder to train—43 percent of employers say it is more difficult to teach the soft skills they’re looking for. This pandemic crisis has accelerated demand too for soft skills like collaboration, communication and the ability to learn and gaming can help fill these skills gaps. 👉 Gamers never expect to conquer a challenge, song or dance from beginning to end on their first try. It is this learnability—the ability and desire to quickly grow and adapt one’s skill set—that will be most valuable to employers. Gamers know that expecting perfection only sets them up for failure; rather, they’ve learned that persistence and practice pay off." #videogames #skillstraining #criticalthinking #creativity #emotionalintelligence #softskills #communication game-to-work-how-gamers-are-developing-the-soft-skills-employers-need.pdf (manpowergroup.com)

📝 Midnight Reflections on the #FutureOfWork and #FutureOfOrganizations: We stand on the precipice of a transformative era — our understanding and perceptions of work, leadership, learning, life, and organizational structures are constantly evolving. In this age of heightened self-awareness fueled by the abundance of knowledge, (artificial) intelligence, and automations — we are more than ever-before — in a deeper pursuit of engaging in purposeful work and meaningful lives. As young people, we will no longer be okay with being called the "young minds" and would proactively seek to find harmony within ourselves, our surroundings, our work, and nature — in the face of the new "young minds" — the Generative AI tools. In this emerging reality, there will be little place for leaders who think their ideas are much better — not because they have convinced others in the team but — because they have convinced themselves that their ideas are a work of great genius! Here's my gut-feeling — Ranks and titles at organizations will witness what the monarchy witnessed in the 19th and 20th century. As we look into the future, it becomes evident that the organizations shaping our future and human-flourishing will not be bound by traditional hierarchical structures. I have a strong feeling that by 2050, we will witness the demise of these outdated forms of organizational hierarchies. The emerging future organizations will be decentralized flatarchies or holacracies. For me, the #FutureOfWork is characterized by hope, inclusion, and full of opportunities for unbridled growth and innovation for humanity and human flourishing. The future of work is mobile, agile with an a dollop of transformative potential, purpose-driven work-life, and boundless possibilities. This #Future will be shaped by those people and organizations who recognize and harness this emerging reality as first movers and early adopters. #Innovation #Leadership #Change #Hope #Work2050 Global Citizenship Foundation

Why I'm trading vacation days for a mission of change 🌟 (Making a difference, one panel at a time!) "Why use your vacation to work?" a friend asked, puzzled by my choice. Here's why: It's about diving into complex social and psychological landscapes, engaging with brilliant minds at the Veterans in Society conference hosted by the University of South Carolina, and forging alliances in my quest for impactful solutions. 🎓 Sharing at the Veterans in Society Conference, surrounded by scholars who share my passion for crafting a better quality of life for all, was gratifying. This isn't just another event; it's a catalyst for transformation, fostering equity and lighting the path to a brighter tomorrow. 💡 In my career, I’m blessed to prioritize positive change, collaboration, and innovation. And I’m not just talking about my job – these values are the heartbeat of my personal pursuits too. Every encounter, every discussion at this conference, is a step towards a world where everyone can thrive. 🌍 Grateful doesn't even begin to cover it. Grateful for a career that’s a force for good, for the drive to make a difference, and for opportunities to turn ideals into action. 🙏 (Will you join me in this journey?) Because what we uncover and share here has the power to reshape our society. Let's create a legacy of equity and hope. Together, we can build a future that’s not only bright but also just and inclusive for all. ✨ #veterans #ViS2024 #positivechange #innovationforgood P.S. Ever found yourself redefining “vacation” to follow your passion? I’d love to hear your story! 👇

In the intricate weave of organizational life, the threads of team growth and milestone achievement intertwine to form a tapestry of evolution and success. As if in a dance, they move together, each step a testament to the maturation of a collective entity. The growth of a team is multifaceted, each facet reflecting a shimmering dimension of progress. Skills within the team blossom like a field of wildflowers in spring, each bloom representing new knowledge and refined abilities. The dance of collaboration becomes more fluid with time, a choreography of minds and talents moving in sync. Amidst these interactions, a culture is nurtured, its roots sinking deep into the soil of shared experiences and ideals. With each new face that joins the ranks, the heart of the team grows wider, an expanding universe of perspectives and potential. Roles within the group become as distinct as the instruments in an orchestra, each musician a master of their craft, contributing to a symphony of expertise. Along the journey, milestones punctuate the path like lanterns in the dark, illuminating the progress made and guiding the way forward. These markers stand as signals pointing in the right direction, echoing the message that the team's trajectory is true. With every milestone reached, hearts swell with the fresh wind of motivation, carrying the team forward on surges of renewed vigor. These achievements are moments of reflection, mirrors in which the team can gaze upon their collective countenance. They offer glimpses of triumphs and trials, the ingredients of their journey, and the lessons learned along the way. To the world beyond, each milestone enhances the stature of the team, a shining beacon of credibility and accomplishment. Thus, the milestones are more than mere moments; they become the architects of future plans. They dissect time into achievable segments, beckoning the team towards the next summit. As the cycle spins, growth feeds into milestones, and milestones nourish further growth. It's a virtuous spiral, ascending skyward. With each turn, the team evolves, driven by an insatiable quest for excellence, cementing their legacy in the murals of their shared endeavor. Get to know our team!!! The trouble with how many organizations approach technology-driven transformations is that management views these transformations solely in terms of improving profitability. How new technology can solve problems that their workers have tends to be an afterthought. Unfortunately, management also gives little thought to the problems that customers have or whether new technology can solve these problems, or even if these new technologies will disrupt customers. Digital transformations of the 2010s early 2020s holds important lessons as organizations begin to use the AI tools of today. Digital transformation done right should start by focusing on the target — the worker or customer, and the kind of experience workers or customers want to have. And that you the organization should then want to create. This means organizations need to understand the target (worker and / or customer), especially if growing means expanding into new customer segments or markets. As part of the solution, organizations can recruit employees who are from these communities who will bring insight into the problems or needs of these new markets. For a thoughtful discussion on these issues, re-watch CXOTalk episode 735 with guest Marcus East when he was SVP and Chief Digital Officer at T-Mobile. He is now EVP and Chief Digital Officer. Topic: Digital Transformation - Inclusion & Diversity https://lnkd.in/dxWwzQPg This was a far-reaching conversation with thoughtful observations. #CXOTalk #CDO #CTO #DigitalTransformation #5GForAll #TeamMagenta
